Our History

In 1990, Wasfi Taher had a degree in business administration from Beirut Arab University. Then he headed for Switzerland, attracted by its long watchmaking tradition. Determinate to succeed, he quickly established relationship with several Swiss watch factories, setting himself up as a retailer.

By the mid-1990 he launched his own company, RibaWatch, which head office is actually based in Le Locle, the heart of watchmaking industry. Today RibaWatch has grown far over Mr TAHER expectations as RibaWatch owns 6 different brands, all successful and every brand is integrated in a  particular market :

Murex (1995)

After many years of efforts, Murex watches rapidly gained its place in the showcases along with other long established and famous brands. Initially a fashion watches brand, it depicts today many products lines, classic, fashion, sport and diamond.

Geovani (2003)

With the increasing success and demand for the models made by RIBAWATCH, Geovani came to light in 2003 as the highest end of the watches produced by the group, rich in its timeless designs and finishing.

Marc Enzo (2000)

MARC ENZO is the perfect fit for the millenium generation to be always on-trend.

Mercury (2003)

Mercury is the senior oriented brand among all the brands produced by RIBA. Its lines are very conservative, however, very trendy and chic.

Faros (2005)

The brand design, free from any constraints, brought and still bring a large choice of beautifully crafted and very affordable timepieces.

Rama (2000)

RAMA the decade long brand joined RIBAWATCH in 2017. With a new spirit and strategy, RAMA is recording an unprecedented success.

Optima (2000)

Optima, the century long brand was revived with a very stong vision. Today, it is the crown jewel of the brands manufactured by RIBA.

Watch Production

Sorted in 6 different brands we produce 200 different watch models and a total of 1000 different colour and style combination. A collection of this size requires a huge amount of work for our design team as they need every day to create, transform, adapt and correct so the collection remains at the top of fashion and luxury standards.

As well, the production team finalize more than 550 complete watches per day perfectly assembled and controlled, packed and ready for delivery.
